No joke, these upcoming podcasts could be life-changing or even life-saving, especially if you find the U.S. healthcare system confusing and/or have a story you would like to share as a patient, caregiver, or subject matter expert. If this does not apply to you, who are you and when can we talk?
I am a doctorally trained epidemiologist who works in healthcare technology. I grew up having someone in my family always sick. I feel personally, academically, and professionally called to use my dry sense of humor and public health skills to make you laugh while inviting others to speak about their often upsetting personal healthcare experiences. I can provide context on the broader healthcare landscape as my guest(s) and I distill practical tips to streamline the next healthcare experience for you or your loved ones.
The start of each episode will intentionally be teed up like a crude yet effective “yo mama” joke from my carefree (and arguably ignorant) childhood. The hope is that if you listen in, you will be able to remember the punchlines whenever needed. Going through, let alone sharing, something like this can be very vulnerable, even raw, but ultimately worthwhile. For those willing to speak out, I hope we can cathartically toast lemonade made of the lemons we’ve been served.
What a legacy that would be!
